Everything you need from a cleaning contractor
Bringing a cleaning contractor onto your premises means trusting them with access, safety and your reputation. Here's exactly what to ask for — and what we provide as standard.
What to expect from any contractor
Use this as a checklist when you compare quotes — from us or anyone else. Every item is something a professional contractor should be able to hand you without hesitation.
A written cleaning specification
Every task, every area, and how often it's done — agreed with you before work starts, not left vague.
Risk assessment & method statement (RAMS)
A site-specific RAMS showing the hazards, the controls and the exact method your cleaners follow.
COSHH information
The safety data sheet for every chemical used on your site, with correct dilution and PPE.
Public liability insurance
Cover in place, with a certificate you can see. Ask for it — a serious contractor will send it straight over.
Employers' liability insurance
A legal requirement for any contractor employing staff. Ask for the certificate.
Directly-employed, vetted staff
Cleaners on the contractor's own payroll, carefully vetted — not subcontracted strangers.
Data protection registration
A contractor handling your details should be registered with the ICO as a data controller.
A clear guarantee & escalation route
What happens when something's missed, and who you call. Reliability is a promise you can hold them to.

Frequently asked questions
What is a RAMS and why does it matter?
RAMS stands for Risk Assessment and Method Statement. The risk assessment identifies the hazards of cleaning your site and how they're controlled; the method statement sets out the step-by-step way the work is done safely. A contractor who can't produce one is a red flag — we provide one for every contract.
Can you provide your insurance certificates?
Yes. We carry public liability and employers' liability insurance and will share the certificates on request. We don't publish cover figures on the website, but you're welcome to see the paperwork before you commit.
Are your cleaners employed or subcontracted?
Directly employed on PAYE — never subcontracted. They're carefully vetted and reference-checked, and we arrange the background checks a setting requires before anyone starts on site.
Do you hold industry accreditations like CHAS or ISO?
We're a young company and we won't claim accreditations we don't hold. We work to COSHH, provide RAMS, and are building towards formal safety accreditation such as SSIP. We'd rather show you our actual paperwork than display a badge we haven't earned.
